It may be best to not listen to anything I say for advice. :spin:
Thanks both. This far I can only speak more than highly about them.
DIE16 Sniper Clan - Covering Unreal Tournament, Unreal Tournament 2004 and Unreal Tournament 3 (it's not a medium sized board though)
Turning Strigoi? Vampire Academy - Bèta.

Does anyone have any experience with Servint and APC perhaps, as they seem quite new with this.

I tried servint and it worked ok. With 100 users online (default cookie) things was working ok, although not "blazing fast". I wanted to step things up a bit so I have moved to this solution: serverloft – Servers – Dedicated Servers (Dedicated server: Opteron Quad Cpu + 4 GB Ram + Raid 1 + backup + monitoring + plesk) all for 99 USD (+17% tax). I price that is pretty har to beat I think. My forum www.thegame-online.dk is running this right now (server is based in Germany) - they also offer serverplacement in US.
Another very insteresting dedicated server solution I fund afterwards was this: http://www.swiftway.co.uk/?module=sk...rok=wybor&id=3 I might try out in the future. Servers are based in Holland. You can test download speed here: http://speedtest.swiftnoc.com/
The server you linked has a very good price i may be tempted to try it out as it has the same cost with my vPS and i already handle everything on my server so why not try it.

I didnt find it any harder to setup than VPS since everything was setup through the control panel like on VPS.
My forum is relative small, but I have some issues with shared hosting, so I decide to move away and get a VPS, since I was losing money whenever they have problems.
I'm using linode 360 (Newark DC) since it's the nearest EU Xen provider I know.
They have an excellent service and an amazing control panel made in house.
They service is unmanaged, so I just pack ubuntu with nginx and made a very fast server, with a low memory footprint.
Let see how it goes.

Mainstreamnetworks.net Superior service at a Great Price
How about www.Hostgator.com?
If you do a quick search here for hostgator you will see that they do shut down boards with vbseo quite a bit.
The Forum Hosting - Forum Hosting from the Forum Experts
heh, hostgator is pretty much THE reason why this thread was started in the first place. Look elsewhere if you're running a forum that gets any traffic.
I use El Host.net works fine with vB Seo and vBulletin. I recommend it. Soft Layer is expensive for me.
Well I have a dedicated server for my sites, but if you're looking for shared hosting I'd highly suggest the following shared web hosts:
- The Prime Host (great support, great servers)
- Active Web Hosting (great support, low pricing, good guarantees)
- ThinkHost (go green with ThinkHost
)
