Is it just in India, or does every one has to wait for a long while before Liquidweb's website loads?

Stupid question, but I'm tempted to change to a VPS.

I'm on a good shared hosting plan with an excellent uptime and support.
I have an average of 20/30 online users and an average of 30/40 posts daily ... small forum

I found a good promo at Future Hosting - Personalized. Privatized. Futurized and this make me think.
More about the pormo here: Future Hosting - VPS BLOWOUT! DOUBLE RAM/BANDWIDTH and HUGE DISCOUNTS! - Web Hosting Talk - The largest, most influential web hosting community on the Internet.

Do you think I get a better and fast forum in a 512 ram cpanel VPS instead of my shared hosting company?

30/40 posts a day and VPS? You must be crazy. Stay with shared hosting and dont waste money on VPS. Shift to VPS when you get 1000+ posts a day. I shifted when I got around 1200-1500 posts a day and everyday total members online were nearly 200 (not at a time, in full day).

Now I shifted to dedicated when I have 350-450 online everyday averaging 3,000 posts a day.

again, it all depends on traffic more than anything. The post count is what i feel an average post per visitor ratio is.

I get 500-600 posts a day, but my site would die on a vps, let alone shared hosting due to the sheer traffic it brings in from google.

when 4 users post 400 of those 500 posts in a day, the total activity is less than having 500 separate people posting 1 post each.

I just bought a VPS from futurehosting, currently hosted on knownhost but shifting due to higher price point and no option for proactive management and monitoring of various services. Other wise have been really happy with their support and server.

Futurehosting is ok so far, little slow in responding to tickets but 35 dollars for a fully managed vps with 1gb ram and 5 service proactive monitoring and management is something that seemed quite sweet. Let's see how it goes, planning to shift the sites soon.

That is a very good price. As long as you are happy with their slow service level, it's hard to beat that price.

Well that might have been an initial snag, yesterday all the tickets were answered in less than 10 minutes and support transfered the sites and then when I was facing slowness issue, fixed it in less than 10 minutes so happy so far.

Been with solarvps for about ten months now.
Solar VPS :: Windows VPS & Linux VPS Hosting

You get special deals on their vps from the web hosting forum Brian gave a link to on the first post.

Tech support on low level takes about ten minutes to get an answer.

Very chilled out company to deal with. They messed their billing service up five months ago. All accounts had to be re entered by hand for billing. Its taken five months for me to be back in the system, mean time tech support were still spot on.

Says a lot when keep the servers and customer support high priority and sort their own problems out with out making the customers suffer.

Their guys always seem to go the extra mile if you need help.

Prior to that I was with bluehost shared hosting, need I say more

I'd recommend Web Hosting Solutions @ Interserved | Cheap Web Hosting Guaranteed | Offering Custom Plans, have been using them for a year and a half now.

I've had one downtime totaling 30 minutes.

    They are using LiteSpeed Technology!

I've been with GeekStorage.com for over 6 months. They fully support vBSEO and the price is right for what they offer. I have a VPS from 'em.

    I recommend:

Do you by any chance have a link to a vbulletin forum using them?
