Getting rid of profile pages in SE Index

While searching for vBulletin SEO in Google, i stumbled across this blog post : SEO for vBulletin and how to stop a forum ruining your website .
It quoted a para from an article by Aaron Wall...
If you are wasting link equity getting low value noisy pages indexed then your high value pages will not rank as well as they could because you wasted link equity getting low value pages indexed. ... getting many noisy navigational pages indexed could put your site on a reduced crawling status ... that may preclude some of your higher value long tail brand specific pages from getting indexed.
Makes me wonder if I should consider blocking the member profile pages of my Forum from being indexed.
Traffic to the member pages from Search Engines in the past couple of months :

May : 57 visits to 41 profiles
June : 101 visits to 63 profiles
July : 142 visits to 88 profiles

What do you think ? Is it worth removing those pages ?
