full site search solution?

anyone knows a full site searching solution thats good and won't make the server crawl. I have vbulletin forum, but a huge amount of custom scripts, which means lot of data is not indexed.(all these pages are static thanks to vbseo, basically backend is vbulletin)
now default vbulletin search is no answer as that indexes only the forum
google doesn't generate enough links and doesn't have all links in database of their's.
so i want a custom solution that will index the static pages and do the job.

anyone used it?
or any other suggestions?
