    Forum Structure & Pagerank

    Hi,

    I know that page rank is not everything but I would like to ear from you if should change this structure:

    domain.com (just redirect to /forum/portal.php)-> PR3
    domain.com/forum/portal.php (vBAdvanced) -> PR3
    domain.com/forum/ (forum root)-> PR2

    vBa is just a front end to new threads and new posts ...
    Should I stay with this structure or do I benefit from doing any change?

    I notice that after install vBSeo most of my forums categories (f1, f2, ...) got PR2 and lots of threads get PR too.

    Since I installed vBSeo 9-9 (20 days ago) I notice some drop in traffic but I've read that this is a regular behavior.

    Any advice?

    Thanks

    Nuno

    If you are not using the portal for anything other than new threads/posts, I would probably get rid of it and redirect the portal page to your forum homepage.

    HI Joe,

    The use of vBa is as usual ... last thread, last posts and nothing more.
    The only useful note that I can remember is that registered users often enter the forum by it's domain and go directly to the portal where they can see the last posts and threads of the forum and the start by reply from there.

    It's a way of organization than other thing ...

    If that's the case, just change your forum template to highlight "Newest posts" so they can quickly via what is new by clicking a link. We have a simple "New Posts" link at the top of our template, but you could make this a button, or something more significant, similar to the ideas expressed here:
