    Question Force post title

How will I go about setting the post title as a required field when replying to a thread, the same as when a thread is started, you need to put in a title?

I do not want all the replies to be RE:title, as these show as duplicate titles on google webmaster tools, and users are lazy, so they never put their own title unless they are forced to do so.

You will most likely need a mod from .org or custom to do this.

The question is, how will you handle quick reply, which has no 'title' input?

The real answer here is to DISCLUDE showpost at all from ever seeing google in the first place.

Use the vbseo permalink option to REPLACE showpost, do NOT re-write showpost.php, include a disallow rule for showpost.php in your robots.txt file, and do NOT include showpost in the sitemap.

At first, they will show as 404 errors in google, and then eventually drop out.

    Thumbs up

Thanks Briansol, that looks like the way to go. I am a bit tied up the next few days, but I'm going to give it a shot end this week. I'm also sure that I am going to need help to set this up, so you'll hear from me soon
