About LinkBacksThere are two settings that I would like to understand better.
Homepage Settings:
Force Forum Root as Homepage? and Define Homepage Aliases.
I have the defaults. Force forum root set to yes, and aliases blank.
I think that these settings are to force all forum home pages to always display the same. With these current settings, I sometimes get website.com/index.php, sometimes website.com/. I would like it to always show it as website.com/index.php.
What would be the correct settings for that?

add index.php and index.php? to the aliases box
