Hi
Im wondering
will Google crawl
[code] [QUOTE] etc tags
and would it be better to use a link rather than use code ?
Yes. Google will just see the codes as plain text data and index them.
Example :
Google Search : See this search (result #1)
This is the post : Text in code tag in Post #4
[code] is never displayed in the markup. It's a vb thing to not parse the text placed into it.
it ends up rendering as <div class="code">x = y </div> in the html
so would it be better to use a link rather than use code ?
not necessarily.
it could end up bloating your code to content ratio, but if someone is searching for "function makesomething()" and you have that in a code tag, it will help rank your particle/etc that it code is placed into.
