    Deletion of stop words

Deletion of stop words from the url makes for an interesting url.

    In my opinion:
    • the urls become less user friendly
    • they are hard to read
    • and in some cases the meaning is changed
Google actually uses the stop words as placeholders. "I Thai Restaurant" Sadly I am competing against every other "anything Thai Restaurant". If I optimize for straight "Thai Restaurant", then that is quite different for Google as compared to "anything Thai Restaurant".

And if I have "thai-restaurant" in my url it is incorrect, as that is not the name of the restaurant.

So stop words are most certainly not enabled on my forums and are unlikely to be on any forums that I SEO.

All I can think of as a justification for using them is that they reduce the size of the url. I don't consider this a good enough reason.

I would love to hear the justification for using this part of vBSEO.
