Crawling doubled in one day...on one year anniversary

I was averaging about 300-450 bots a day, with one day several months ago hitting about 900. But most days it was a few hundred with maybe 600 several times a month. I installed vbulletin exactly a year ago yesterday, and vBSEO on January 2nd of this year. I don't know if it is just a coincidence, but yesterday, my one year anniversary, I had 1200 plus (the increase all coming from google, with about 900 hits). And today, at 8:40 pm, I am at 1150 plus.

Anyway, no matter the source, I figure it is a good thing. I will update if this continues (or hopefully increases). I just thought it odd that this happened exactly at the one year mark. Maybe google likes sites that are older?

Interesting observation. Age of the site is a positive SEO factor.

I hope the increased crawling also leads to more traffic.

Well, I hope I didn't jinx myself! The crawling dropped back down to 400-600 per day (still slightly above where I was at on average). Seems like a strange coincidence, if that is what it was. I do wonder if it had anything to do with the anniversary. If only I knew how the google algorithm worked!

Stats are good...still hope to continue growth. I may be at a plateau...still very happy with only 5 months of working with vBSEO and doing onsite optimization.
