Couple random questions for those that have some experience with SEO

All of the domains mentioned are changed to protect the innocent.

If you owned, FOR EXAMPLE, 5series . com , and you were going to launch a vbulletin forum dedicated to the b m w 5series, would you recommend 1) installing vbulletin and vbseo in a folder called bmw and 2) creating a subdomain called bmw so the forum link would be:

http://bmw.5series . com instead of

http://forums.5series . com or

http://www.5series . com/forums/

Is there an advantage from an SEO perspective and adsense perspective?

The domain I own has nothing to with the 5series and those were only used to give you generic examples.

You could do:

• option 01 - bmw.forums.5series.com, or
• option 02 - forums.bmw.5series.com

www or forums will have no real impact. Forums could help if people are searching for keywords that include "forum". I think that happens relatively infrequently, and that term is already on your site.

bmw can help you as it adds that relevant part to your domain.

I would probably choose option 02, since it gets the keyword into the domain, but also gives a clear indication of what the site is about with forums.

You could still consider:

bmw.5series.com/forums/

Of course, I do not know what your real domain is, therefore, I cannot determine if the above suggestions would work for your particular address.
