Changing forum layout and structure?

Hi,

I run Straight Razor Place. We're gearing up to change our forum layout a little. To organize and make it more friendly for new members that join to find what they need.

My question is this, will it kill us when we rename/merge/move forums form a search engine perspective?

A healthy portion of our traffic is from Google, and I don't want to lose it.

Threads are auto 301'ed to their correct location destination.
Forums are not.

You will likely see a bit of disruption for a couple weeks, but it will likely fix it self in short time. It's worth it to take the hit now if you think the movement will better your forum in the long run.
