    Changing Cookie Domain name

I have been setting up a static content server for my images, css, and js files. I have got most of it working the way I want it but it is still serving cookies for the static content.

Reading this thread - Serving static content from cookieless domain - need help

would lead me to believe I need to change my cookie domain under
    Code:
vBulletin Options -> Cookies and HTTP Header Options -> Cookie Domain to www.hotcouponworld.com
    Right now it is .hotcouponworld.com
Is this right or does it need to be changed somewhere else?

It's absolutely ok. You can go with it.

The ideal solution is to use an entirely different domain name.

Buy whatever is on sale, .info's are usually $1.99.

    mysitestatic.info for example.

Set it's home path to the main /home/site.com/ path and use that for your CDN.

I had an hour long video outlining this recorded and then my system crashed trying to save it :(

I am serving the content from static.hotcouponworld.com. I setup a CNAME site and it is being served by a different IP as well.

Right, and that's exactly what you DONT want to do as it is still using the same domain.
setting to .yourdomain.com or / as required by vb will still put cookies on a simple subdomain.

You ideally want to use static.mynewstaticname.info or whatever so that any cookies set on hot couponworld.com don't transmit for all the static items.
