Building Better Backlinks for SEO

In reference to improving ones search engine placement. I am in the midst of obtaining backlinks to my site.

I am wondering to building proper backlinks... does it matter if the link to your site is like this:

http://abcwebsite.com

or like this...

Check this out

both go to the same place, just one is not shown at http: bla bla bla

The above wesbite is just a example, not my site
