What a rude awakening. I was blacklisted in Google due to forum SPAM. While working with Google on the matter, the content that got me blacklisted was your typical "xanax, viagra, etc." content that forum spammers will post. Although this content is removed from our site quickly, apparently in this instance it was not quick enough.
Recent Forum posts widgets on our CMS homepage pulled this content from the forum and displayed in on the homepage (which included linked text that was the same color as the page). Google saw this content from our widget and blacklisted us quickly for cloaking.
Considering the content was removed from our site within 2 hours of being posted, it's an aggressive move by Google in my opinion. I have now employed an aggressive moderation policy on the site that does not allow new members to post publicly and have applied for reconsideration with Google; a process that could take several weeks to a few months.
Pretty painful considering the thousands in unique visits from Google each week...like 10,000.
Message to all: Employ methods that does not allow SPAM to be shown on your site.
