    Bing is on the Move

Bing Gains 1% Market Share in July, Google’s Share Goes Down

1% may seem like nothing. But, 1% of the entire searching done on the INTERNET? That's a HUGE figure that simply can't be ignored. In the coming days/weeks/months, yahoo search will be Bing powered as well. We may see these figures jump to 3 or 4%.

The key point here is that this is a sample of the entire internet. Your forum particular niche may attract more (or less) people from Bing. It may be 10% or more for your traffic!

vbSEO provides the tools to help you rank well in Bing already!

Like Google, Bing also offers a webmaster area: Webmaster Center - Bing

Be sure you have added your access key and set up your sitemap on Bing as well for optimal results and error tracking. Bing supports the vbSEO sitemap generator, so there is nothing more for you to do.
Note: If you have an older install of the sitemap generator, we suggest adding 1 fix which replaces the old Live! search engine with Bing for the ping. See this post for the simple fix:

Bing users are more ad-click happy! Make $$$$!

A recent study shoes that Bing users are TWICE as more likely to click through an ad on the destination page (your forum) than from Google search engine leads.
ref: Are Bing Users Twice As Likely To Click On An Ad Than Google Users?

Maximize your results on Bing. Get more traffic. Make more money. Be happy vbSEO will help you get there!

Does it mean that all the search pages of yahoo will be redirected to bing.com ? Or will Yahoo just use the Bing search mechanism 'behind the scenes', keeping the user on their (yahoo) domain ?

I haven't heard what the official plan is yet. It very well may still be a yahoo page, and a yahoo server call, but using Bing's back-end technology and data.

I just ran some analytics/adsense stats of my own to see what the revenue difference was. I was shocked!

I can't post figures due to TOS agreements, but let's just say that my bing-derived users have an eCPM 4x that of Google-lead traffic.

See, the deal is that Google has nowhere to go but down. Bing keeps climbing and soon will get there. Google is at the top of the mountain. The wolves at Microsoft are willing and determined like Piranhas to make Google disappear one bite at a time and that's why Google boys are screaming like scared sheep on the hills "Stay away big bad wolf!" LOL! Google boys are worried and they have a reason to.

there will be a long wait before Google is really affected. 1% in the grand scheme of things is relatively nothing. Google should be concerned if in 6 months if Bing is sitting at 10%, and 6 months later, 15%. 1% is good in the short period of time, but there are plenty of rules and regulations that will stop MS from steam rolling Google. Google is on top with cutting edge technology and will likely remain there for years to come.

I don't think so , Google is acting very weird lately and they started to receive more hate compared to Microsoft in last year. With their new OS , i believe Google will face a huge drop as Chrome OS clearly shows what their intensions are.

Curious as to what the intentions are. I bet is privacy related? I'll never use Chrome it if it has something to do with anything online.

From what I have heard Chrome OS is intended for netbooks only and will be 100% web based, you will boot into a browser and all the apps will be web based. I hope this is wrong but I think I probably will use it on Old PC of mine just for testing.

They are not targetting only netbooks but it will probably be used only on netbooks as all data related to OS is stored on Google Servers. You'll not be able to store any data on your own pc at all .

Google is making money from Advertisement. With all the stored information , Google can analyze users browsing habbits , things they like etc.. These kind of information has key importance to any advertisement company. Which is a huge danger for all other advertisement companies and i believe after releasing their OS Google will face an anti trust case also.
