Better to have 'forums' in URL or not?

Here's my little dilemma:

I'm installing a new board and a wondering if I need to put the vb intallation in a seperate folder.

Here's my reasoning:

1 - putting vb in a forums folder would put the keyword forum in the url

- but -

After doing a search thru wordze, seems many people don't use the keyword 'forum' or 'forums' when they search

2 - Putting vb in a seperate directory would allow me to write other scripts in the level above the forums.

- but -

It's a forum site and any addition scripting will be based off vb's API anyway.

3 - Forums in the URL might throw an additional flag for google to only index pages into it's google blog section

- but -

Google blog seems to update a whole lot faster than google search.

4 - Too much thinking on my end

- but -

Make the wrong decision in the beginning and I could doom my community from the start.

Any thoughts? Am I a nutcase?
