Banner server for vBulletin

I want to use and ad services device to my forum, I wonder if anyone could recommend and advert server that works well with vB and vBSEO without much hassle.

OpenAds is pretty good, but I'd stay completely away from version 2.4 and go with the 2.0 version that is essentially phpadsnew. Depending on your volume, it can use a lot of resources though... I have a separate server to run OpenAds.

Thanks very much for your response, volume is pretty low at the moment, would have though version 2.4 will be and improvement on version 2.0.

I would highly recommend staying away from version 2.4 for now. It has some serious performance issues... as an example it took my dual - dual core server from a server load of around 2 to over 30. This is discussed quite extensively in the OpenAds forums and many folks have rolled back to 2.0 and will stay there until the performance issues are fixed. There are some features in 2.4 that I need, and I'm still not going to run it. It also has a couple of bugs in it, in addition to the performance issues that make it unusable by me. Version 2.0 is well tested and should work fine... especially if you are going to run it on the same server with vBulletin.

That's good to hear, but I am not alone in the problems I've experienced with it... read their forums. In fact, the developers have said in some of the threads that there is no fix at this point and we'll have to wait. If you aren't pushing big volume at it, it may be fine, but running on a dedicated dual - quad-core box, it had big problems, while 2.0 runs fine.

It's a shame they never implemented paypal payments or any other type of payments into openads/phpadsnew otherwise i'd use it.

I use an old version of adrevenue on my forum.

This is a very simple ad management system for vbulletin. I'm currently using it, and it works well, but doesn't really do anything more than adding ads to your pages - no reporting or anything like that
