I found one piece of software that will do this and get the sql database backed up, but I'm not sure it will get all the files.

Thanks,
Patrick

chances are, your files don't change much (other than your attachments directory if you store them via the filesystem instead of the db)

I do 1 manual ftp file transfer a week to my local machine, and burn to dvd.
for backup, I have a NAS at my datacenter which I automatically back up my database to via this mod: Automatic Database Back-up - vBHackers.com - vBulletin Modifications, Hacks, and Help If you don't have a NAS option, you can store the zip in a non-web accesible directory (ie, make one not in public_html, and access it like /home/sitename/folder/ instead of the typical /home/sitename/public_html/ ) and then manually download it to your local machine every few days, and burn to dvd.
