Does Avantlink hyperlinking causing any ill effects on SEO?

What is Avantlink hyperlinking? Can you explain it?

Avantlink is a Cost Per Sale Affiliate marketers. One of their recommendations is that I auto hyperlink designated words so that they link with advertisers.

For example:

Designated Word: Ski
Hyperlink: ski from Backcountry.com


Does that make sense?

A site that is constructed merely to promote affiliate links is a negative SEO factor. However, a site with good content and authority established from links from other relevant sites will be able to obtain traffic with affiliate links in place.

I think you will be fine. Just be careful to choose to promote products/services relevant to your content. Therefore, that would probably lead to choosing keywords that are more specific, avoiding problems that could arise from adding too many generic autolinked keywords.
