Archive linking back to full version

OK, still discovering things about vBSEO. I notice that the links in the archives to archive threads are now re-written back to the full version of the threads in the forums.

Is this a good idea? Most Adsense income in the past for me has been from the archives. Although visitors arriving from search referrals will still be getting the information they are arriving at a much more visually complicated interface and I think they're less likely to notice and click an adsense link than they are in the clean presentation of the archive itself. It seems to me that most arrivals are people looking for a quick piece of information and are unlikely to be interested in your site much beyond that piece of information and this is where the archive threads give them a nice clean targeted adsense link to click through to once they've decided whether or not you site is worth looking further into.

    Comments?

    TIA

    Z

It's an option in the vbSEO CP if you would like it to act in the old manner.

I think it has something to do with eliminating duplicate content.

Yeah search engines could classify it as duplicate content and your site could be penalised for it, but if you do get most of your earnings from there just login to your CP and go down to "Archive Options:"

Change the drop down box to read "Keep vB's Archive default settings", that'll revert it to the normal way vB handles things except of course you will be able to rewrite it so for example topics in the archive will now read:

    http://www.domain.com/forums/archivename/t-X.html

    Hi Guys,
    I have the same problems.
Links to threads in Archive are pointing to threads in Full Version.

When I switch to "Keep vBulletin's Archive default settings " in vBSEO control panel - everything works fine, except for rewriting.
Links look like t-1241.html, not like 1241-thread-title.html

If I switch to "Rewrite + 301 redirect" or other option - links are OK (like 1241-thread-title.html), but they point to full version

Could you please tell me what should I do to make archive fully working with rewrited links pointing to archive version of threads?

    Thanks

There are no possibility to rewrite the archive link with the threads url?

This could transform the archive in a great sitemap with no risk of duplicated content.

If yours is not working, you might need to upgrade to vBSEO 2.4.0 + since a compatibility issue was discovered with older versions of vB.
