    Announcements Showing In New Posts

Hi, all, maybe someone can help, is there anyway to NOT show announcements on NEW POST page? Truckers' Trucking Forum | Message Board | Discussion and click on new posts, I see all the darn new sponsor announcements I posted... I asked vBulletin and they said I modified it somehow and I'd have to take mod off. I did not modify it except vBESO, of course... I just added those last night to test out a new sponsor idea... Any ideas how to remove ALL announcements from NEW POSTS page?

Not sure what you mean? As a guest I can only use Today's Posts, but I still don't see a lot of announcements, or threads started by the same person.

Hm, Yea I tried what you said and I don't see them there either. They ONLY show up if you are logged in. I posted announcements in EVERY single forum as a new sponsor test and now they all show on TOP ofg the list in NEW POSTS section. It urks people, LOL. Well, how long do things show up in NEW POSTS section anyway? Thanks!

These are actual Announcements added through vBulletin's AdminCP? Do you have some hack installed to make those display at the top of New Posts?

Yes, announcements, no, no hack or anything... All I did was change the name announcements to sponsors, LOL. I don't know why they show up top of there.... II've never used them before so maybe that is the way they normally do?

Anybody know anything about this? I have like a ton of announcements now showing on top of NEW POSTS when a user clicks that. That is irritating. I wish I could stop the announcements from showing on top of NEW POSTS period...

Disable all plugins and if it still continues, ask for help on vBulletin.com.

I wonder if this has anything to do with recently upgrading from 3.5.4 to 3.6.0 with vBSEO running when I did it? Its the only thing I can think of...

Not likely. If you disabled the vBSEO Product, and it still does it, then it's either a feature of vB, or caused by some other Product/Plugin.

Hm,ok, I asked them and they said that it doesn't have a feature for those to show in NEW POSTS, weird. They are still on it. I bet it is a new feature yet the guy I was talking to didn't know about that feature. (guessing). I have NO other mods besides vBSEO so it certainly is not that. Can you test an announcement in here to see if it shows up in NEW POSTS?

Yep, it does. Definately appears to be a feature of vBulletin.

It goes away once you read it though, just like all other threads. Your users should be able to Mark All Forums Read to clear them also.
