Additional footer links, yes or nor, no-follow?

Hi, I am currently working on an additional footer section that will contain a couple of helpful links for members and visitors (in four columns). As this will be mainly internal links my concern is wether to do this at all in regards of SEO or not. And if yes (I mean, so many websites do have these secondary footer sections these days, it cannot be that harmful, right? And it's a good service for the users too.), will the no-follow settings of vBSEO affect these additional links in the footer template or would you recommend to manually add no-follow to all of them? Do you have any other tips for me how to add such a footer section in the best way for SEO? Thanks a lot!

You should always make a site for humans first. Anything you do for bots/seo should be an after-thought.

No-follow and you shouldn't have any issues.
