Adding noindex to threads with little content

While I don't think it's a good idea to just noindex everything under x words, it is an intriguing idea. How about if you could, for example, noindex threads with < 50 words, < 1 reply, and > 356 days old. In most cases, threads like this on my forums, at least are of little value. It may be a bad idea to waste indexing juice on pages such as these, no?

Content length or response number doesn't mean anything imo. Important thing is how unique the content is. An article can contain 15-20 words and can supply or details about a specific item. Will this article calculated useless content and require no index , not at all. That's why i think the mod is not nice.

However the idea should not completely ignored. A better approach should start with scanning and supplying data to administrator. So he can choose which threads require no index which not.

Longer doesn't necessarily mean better. It's arbitrary and you may end up blocking good content.

ie,
first post:

"Hey, what is XXXX"

and the 2nd post goes on for 15000 words describing it.
