Add Twitter to vBSEO Social Bookmarking

If you use vBSEO and want to add Twitter to your Social Bookmarking area, then this is for you.

• Upload files to your forum root
• Open vBSEO and go to Other Enhancements>> Social Bookmarking
• Put a check in add custom
• Add this code
  Code:

  http://twitter.com/home/?status=Check+this+out+%url%,images/vbseo/twitter.png,Share on Twitter,Share on Twitter

Now you should see your twitter icon listed with your other Social Bookmarking icons.

You can change "Check This Out" to what ever you want. But make sure you use +'s for the spaces. Using %20's will not work. Make sure to never use Twitter - This will not work. You will need to always use Twitter - For some reason twitter doesn't want you to use the www address. Now this will work fine if you're all ready logged in. But for people that are not logged in, it will not work well at all.

Looks like you didn't upload the image.

Just one more question. I have the rewitten URLs option courtesy of VBSEO which makes for long urls in tweets. I also have a bit.ly account linked to my Twitter Account.

When I go to tweet posts from my forums, the tweets are too long. Is it possible to have bit.ly automatically shorten the bookmarked tweets?

To be honest, I'm not quite sure how to use that with it. But I'll see what I can get done in some free time. Because I don't have a copy of vBSEO I need to wait until I can get access to a friends site that has a copy in order to do some work. Unless the vBSEO staff can help me out
