About internet directories

I have been searching informations about Directories and their uses, is it good ? I have been submitting my website to dmoz.org today is there any other big directories where I should submit my website ?

dmoz.org will take a very long time to get listed, if ever. It tends to be very slow in my experience.

Submitting to other directories is a good idea as long as the directly has a category that is highly relevant to your site. Be discriminate.

Yes right I 've read this on dmoz I can wait long to be added or not at all , anyway that sound cool way like tags to add some sort of traffic, I think I will setup a phpLD on my forum dedicated to security forums , free but with reciprocal link.

Just make sure to only allow excellent sites, nothing that's just pure affiliate fluff, etc.

Also you can find more directories by searching google. Please be sure to browse around the directory before thinking about submitting. Submitting to a directory that consists of affliate links and a million popups.. ads is not worth it.

The advantage of dmoz is it's the most cloned directory, meaning loads of (class C IP) links.
I submitted our main forum to dmoz 2 years ago and still haven't been approved... having said that, one of our subforums has recently been added by another editor. So my advice for getting added to dmoz is go for niche and quality and get the editors attention.
