    • Relies heavily on canonization to get around the lack of link consensus
    • vBSEO Team says "Burn after not reading (or before)!" to save your SEO life...
    • If you want URL Rewriting done correctly, the only place to find true link consensus is vBSEO.
  2. Overall, MichaelC provides a well informed but "obsurdly over optimistic" guide to URL writing.
  3. Is SEO only for coding geniuses or for everyone?

    One day... is he kidding? Maybe for a small site with only 5 - 10 static content pages. I have spent days on end trying to get link consensus on just a single page.

    My understanding of it is that, you have page with URL "X". That page is also accessible from URL "Y". This is ambiguous and would negatively affect the page rank of both URL "X" and URL "Y" because they have to share, even though they point to the same page.

    Achieving a scenario where each content page on your site has exactly 1 URL that links to it is link consensus.
