301 redirect root to forum good or bad

Hi, I am 301 redirecting (cpanel):
    http://webthehinh.com/ to
    http://webthehinh.com/forums/

The main reason is I do not need cms for homepage at the moment but I will need the homepage (with, say, cms like drupal) when the forum becomes bigger. Will the 301-redirect have negative (SEO) impact when I stop the redirect (may be after 1,2 years) and use drupal for homepage? Will google crawl the drupal pages like normal?

    Thanks

Just a question, but it looks like you have a bodybuilding website? Why don't you have say articles or write ups on your homepage now to draw people in? Some original content is always good and it's never to early for it.

As for the redirect...hmmm I don't see why it would be a problem. But someone may correct me on that. But if you aren't using anything in it's place now you could always have your forums in your root, and in the future add your article system. Which might be better for you.

Yes. it is a bodybuilding website. I actually have another website which dedicates to bodybuilding articles. Should I also create an articles system for this website as well and use linkbacks etc to boost up both sites? Or should I even have two websites on the same subjects as well (assuming that they will have a lot of viewers)? What are the upside and downside of that?

The reason I do not want the forums in the root is I may have a product system, an articles system and may be more later... But I actually could use an articles system in the root and later on mix that with a product system.

However, if someone could confirm about redirect it would be great. I probably still need (if no harm done) to redirect for a few months at least.

    Thanks...

You can still have articles and so on with the forum in root.

i'm a big fan of putting vb in root. that way you can use vbseo to 'fix' all the other urls. htaccess works UP, not down

you can rename index.php of the forum to forums.php, then use a CRR to make it /forums (in fact, vbseo.com does exaclty this. )
