301 redirect to facebook page

I created a 301 redirect by making a folder and placing an index.html file in it to make Bylur.com | Facebook redirect to my site's Facebook page. Is there anything wrong with this SEO wise? Could I do this more cleanly than I'm currently doing it? (creating a physical folder and index.html file)

How are you directing it via the html file? a meta tag?

The best way is to make a Redirect direct in the htaccess file.

Code:

redirect 301 /fanpage http://www.facebook.com/whatever

Put that right above the sitemap directive.

You can then delete the directory/index file as it has no use.
