I knew most of these after being on forums since 04. Good to know I'm not the only one to think this. Also I believe design can be a turn on. When I go to a site I look at it's organization and look. Then I check out the content.

Another good thing I find is having an intro section and ACTUALLY GREETING the people that post there. I don't know how many sites I've seen, each intro thread gets 1 or 2 greets. If you and your staff start a trend, then all your members will follow. Now we get some intro threads that are 2+ pages long. I believe that really helps b/c the users feel welcomed
