Techniques that are used to fool search engines

    Ahhhh.....,

I really wanted your attention badly, because some websites (yes, probabally even from some members here) do these things I mention here..... so many sites are STILL doing this (not so much forums)!!!

So many many people are looking for a fast way (or cheat) to top search engines. They have tried hidden text, doorway/gateway pages, cloaking (serving different web content to web spiders as they do real people), page jacking, keyword spamming and all manner of other things!! So many sites are doing this.... and they all get dropped from google quicker than you care to imagine.

Search engines are now a billion dollar industry.... the giants are competing against each other in the most cut throat ways. One thing they are all paying very careful attention to is spam. Google invests a fortune in technology which helps to automatically determine if a site is spamming (using any of the above methods besides many many others)... these technologies are constantly being improved and are getting better and better at weeding out good, honest sites from those looking for a quick fast leg up.

Honest to goodness ethical search engine optimisation, coupled with great content is the only thing that will cut it these days.

    Your feedback is welcome.
