Social Bookmarking Links Thread

Great thread.

Thanks for taking the time to upload these for everyones benefit.

I have a question about all of these social bookmarks and the robots.txt file

Do these social bookmarks need to be setup in robots.txt?? The way I seee it all of these icons, in all of the posts, point away from your site, instead of keeping the spiders on our site,we might be sending them away if these aren't added to the robots.txt.

Is there an easy way to add them all?

Can someone post an example or two of how to properly add the social bookmarking icons (digg and delicious for example) to the robots.txt file

I think all of the social bookmarking icons should be a built in feature of VBSEO and the end user would just have to check/uncheck the box.

All the links have rel="nofollow" so bots will not follow these links. Thats why you donot need to add them to your robots.txt

Thanks fore the quick reply on the nofollow. I didn't see it in the url, I take it, that it is a built in function in VBSEO?

I loaded 14 bookmarks to my forum and noticed that the icons looked ugly because some did/didn't have transparency and some where bigger than the others.

So, I collected 14 of the bookmarks and made them all 16 x 16.
They looked better but they wasn't space between the images.
I made the images 18/16 [I added one column of transparency to both sides of 16x16 images].

If anyone is interested in the 14 bookmark images [.png] 16 x 16 or the 18 x 16, you can download the attached .rar file.
