why did google index this page?

I just found today this page from me is now indexed in google

forum/forumdisplay.php?f=home

Its even on page 1 to find right now if i do a site: check

this page does redirect to Bonus Paradise Gambling Forum

Any idea why google did index it?
Just a glitch?

Not sure why it got indexed. Did you find out which page linked to it ?

Also, a lot of other vB Forums seem to have that page indexed :

Found. It's some sort of 'short-cut' URL by vBulletin, used by the ForumJump menu. There are a bunch of other shortcuts available too (via forumdisplay.php). Like :

/forumdisplay.php?f=home , ?f=search , ?f=pm , ?f=wol , ?f=cp , ?f=subs

And, lol, even : /forumdisplay.php?f=-1 (that goes to Forumhome)

[ forumdisplay.php ; Line numbers 70-80 ]

It got indexed probably because it wasn't a (permanent) 301 redirect.
forumdisplay.php?f=home => (302) => index.php

forumdisplay.php should be in your robots file as a disallow anyway

oh i did not have this in my robots txt
I have added it now

Disallow: /forumdisplay.php

We can't change it, anyway. It's hardcoded into vBulletin core files.

And yes, you can disallow it, as briansol said; and let Google drop it from the index.
(and submit an URL removal request if you want to get it removed even faster )

Did you disallow: that URI in robots.txt before submitting the request ?

1st i added it in robots.txt and then i went to google and requested to removed

well maybe i just wait if they still drop it theirself?

yeah, they reject just about everything... I had asked to reject a url to a thread that was pretty personal that someone had posted, and they said too bad

just robots it out. it will eventually drop out.
