(by the way.... my max 2555 was brought about by being on digg.com homepage.... it's not a reliable indication of steady traffic)

I seriously need to work on the ON page SEO really..... the links are all content relevant obviously, but I do need to sort out the markup a little.... it's a case of time restraints.

My On Page could be far better, and that would definitly please msn and yahoo.... who seem to lean slightly more to on page than google (prolly due to google having patents on link pop, etc, etc)

When i get round to it, yahoo and msn should increase heavily.

I've been getting about 5 new registrations/day on averge for the last month. About 1 in 5 actually posts. And that's with the welcome headers hack.

We all need a mod so we can direct new registrants to a welcome forum...

They cannot move beyond that point until they have posted an introduction....

A mod like this to me is just common sense, I personally lump it as part of the registration process....

Note: You cannot proceed until you introduce yourself to our community!!!
click here to see example introductions.

I think the above function should be included as a standard option.

You can do that with usergroups, forum permissions, and promotions.

Once they're registered, only allow the Registered usergroup to access your Introductions forum, and have a Sticky in that forum explaining it to them. Then set up a Promotion to switch them to another usergroup when their post count is greater than 0, that is your "standard" usergroup.

I realise that is possible, but I view that as a bodge....

Especially given they may have to wait up to an hour for the promotion....

No, a better way is required.
