    Actually, our true record (on phpBB) is 266 users... prolly mostly spiders though.

    I'll be keeping a close eye on things

    Update:-

    I requested google remove all my old URL's (no, I aint mad) using a specially crafted robots.txt and submitting it to it's URL console. All the old URL's were 404's anyway.

    Google has actually removed all the old pages and is now showing 180 of the new pages in it's index. It's weird that google has not updated it's result count as it says 140,000 pages listed.... oh well.. lol

    Our main keywords has us listed in the same position, so I'm waiting for a much deeper crawl (any day now... ) to tell whats what.

    I'll post back here whenever google decides to get of it's robotic arse and zip around my site.

    rob: I wish for Google to remove my old pages as well, how did you go about doing that?

    What did you add to your robots.txt file and what url did you submit the file to?

    How long did Google take to remove all the old links as well?

    Ok.... an long overdue update now that I'm sure things have levelled off.

    After much SEO graft and toil we peaked out at number one in the last few days for our main key phrase, 'web design forums' ... although I'm not seeing it on all datacenters it promising none the less.

    (I put some of the above down to excellent on page SEO also which is largely down to vBSEO and my own on page content obviously)

    157,000 pages indexed which isnt too shabby. Loads of deep stuff indexed and archive pages also.

    Approx referals per month:
    * Google - 60000
    * Yahoo - 1000 (WTF gives with that?)
    * MSN - 500 (Hmmm..)
    * ASK - 400
    * Others - 300

    New registrations up around 60 percent since installing vBSEO

    I always find it interesting to compare my forum's progress with others like you, Rob.

    Your SE referrals are about 3 times mine but you're pulling in WAY more visitors & new members than I am. Would you attribute that to click thrus on links or somethign else?

    If Google doesn't backtrack, I'm in line to have about 20,000 referrals this month to your 60k. But your max users is 2500 vs mine of 60.

    My favorite indicator of forum growth is new members with at least 1 post in the last 30 days. You've got 237 to my 59. So you're about 4 times higher than me on that.

    And my Yahoo/MSN referrals are weird like yours. Very similar proportionately:
    Google 20k
    Y 1000
    MSN 800

    One thing you didn't mention, how much has traffic/signups improved since vbseo? What was it under phpbb?

    Thanks, Ross
