    tracking fansofrealitytv.com

I've installed vbseo a week ago. So far, only the actual forum links are re-indexed in Google, but that's a good start.

We're seeing a slight (3-5%) increase in page views per day, and in visitors. It's hard for us to correlate actual increases, because it largely depends on what shows are airing at any given time. My main measurement is pagerank (we're PR5, and have been for a couple of years) and how Google and Yahoo have us indexed.

So far, I'm pleased with the results. I'll keep you posted if something really good (or bad) happens, though. I've been tweaking keywords, and have been making ever-so-slight changes to the layout to get better indexing.

With a starting PR of 5, I would expect your crawling priority to be quite high with Google. I'd expect that your vBSEO-enhanced pages will be indexed fairly quickly. On the next PageRank update, you'll notice that the PR is spreading more deeply into your forum display pages, and showthread pages.

Keep us posted. I think you are in position to do extremely well.

I guess I should also mention my current indexing, in case things change dramatically:

    site:FansofRealityTV.com on Google = 203,000 pages
    link:FansofRealityTV.com on Google = 216 (I know, I know)
    site:FansofRealityTV.com on Yahoo = Pages (59.359) Inlinks (4643)
site:FansofRealityTV.com on MSN = 103 (we've never had good results here)

Yes, Joe, we get approximately 60,000 pages crawled per day by various bots, primarily Google. We had next-day changes to some of our pages in Google, and as of today, it appears that all of our actual forum links are updated to the new link format. Now I just want the threads and showposts to be updated, and I'll be extremely happy.

Hi Ace, it's been a while! I've been so busy with the site, I don't get a chance to get around to others too much. But now that the site's been sold to TV Guide, I find I have a bit more free time. I'm still managing the site on contract, but I don't have to feel like it's "my baby" any more, which is great.

One thing I HAVE noticed immediately is the way MSN is hitting the site. As you can see from this graph, we're getting steadily and good increased MSN bot activity.

Okay, we've been installed for 2 weeks. I hadn't thought it was making too much difference, but stats don't lie. This first graph is our visits/pagevews graph. Before the arrow is pre-vbseo, and after the arrow is post-vbseo.

On this one, the most telling graphic of all, look at the increases from search engines. This is comparing the last 2 weeks (the installed period) versus the prior 2 weeks (the latest period prior to install):

Looking at these stats, I'm very impressed. Thanks, vbseo!

Ok, I'm 3 weeks in. Google has us almost completely reindexed, and for some of our more important keywords, we're ranking much higher than we used to. The number of Google referrals has dropped slightly in the past week, but I'm calling this the sophomore slump. It's still up over pre-VBSEO stats, so I'm still happy, and confident it will go back up.

The first two pics are the 2 weeks prior to vbseo install, and the most recent 2 weeks. You can see our pageviews and unique visitors both went up about 10%.

    Two weeks prior to install:

    Most recent 2 weeks:

And now, the most recent 2 weeks referral stats, versus the 2 weeks prior to install. This one's the most important to me:

Indexed in Google: 202,000 (we were at 204,000 prior to install)
InLinks per Google: 216 (it was 216 prior to install, no change)

Indexed in Yahoo: 55,434 (it was in the 59k range prior to install)
InLinks per Yahoo: 2,532 (it was 4643 prior to install)

Indexed in MSN: 125 (it was 103 prior to install)

Now we're a ways in, and the change is EXTREMELY impressive.

Let's start with the basics. We are getting a THIRTY PERCENT increase in pageviews and visitors. That number is even more impressive when you consider that we're 4.5 years old, and have been seeing pretty standard stagnant numbers across the board for about 2 years. We seemed to have hit our point where old members were being inactive at about the same rate new members were coming in.

We're also up across the board in our keywords, referrals, and any other measure you want to take. vbSEO is worth its weight in gold. Here's a quick spreadsheet I created this morning, comparing the 31 days in March to the previous 31 day period.

If Yahoo finally updates its search results, and the stats there are as impressive as we're seeing from the Google updates, I'll be a happy, happy man. Thanks, vbSEO team!
