Thread ID - Before or After the Seoed URL?

Hi,

I was just wondering which one is better in your experience.

ie Thread ids before post title or After post title.

Eg:

1. http://www.myforum.com/category-one/12000-topic-title.html
2. http://www.myforum.com/category-one/topic-title-12000.html

I'm using vBSEO's defualt, before title. But ow I feel the latter is better coz the title will come close to the category which will increase relevance.

Just a thought, but what do you guys think about it?

Also is it advisable to do a switch to the second type now, after thousands of indexed pages in old format?

I put it after
and no, you shouldn't change your structure if you're already well indexed

Why not VBSEO use the 'before' way as default?

I prefer after. You can switch it (I did a day or so after installing), but of course you'll loose any rankings you have for the old URLs.

I like it coming after as well. However, I also do not recommend that you change from your existing structure once in place.
