I'm at about wits end right now with vbseo!
I launched my site around the 1st of June 2009 and started to get indexed by Google around the 3rd day, that is pretty good. My thread URL's were being indexed in what I would call SE optimimized.
Then for some reason around 6/10/09 they started to all be indexed in the same format of : www.mysite.com/forum/ - which is NOT optimal. Although the staff has been responsive in answering my questions I still don't think they are understanding what I'm saying or they want to blame google for the way my forum threads are being indexed...ie the way results are displayed.
They used to be displayed in the format of:
http://www.mysite.com/forum/f9/best-...stem-for-2009/
My thread Title was also displayed in the Title area of a google result. When someone would click the result they would be taken directly to that thread. Is this making sense to anyone yet?
On the other hand, when all forum threads as of 6/10/09 are being displayed in he way of: www.mysite.com/forum/ - The web surfer would only be taken to the forum root/index, and then he would have to go through many categories to find that exact thread. It doesn't make sense.
Also, all of my new forum threads appear with the Title of my forum in the Title area of the google result, example:
My Car Forum GSXT - Support and news - Anyone should know that if your are vBSEO optimized your forum thread when indexed by Google should look like this:
Best exhaust system for 2009 - My Car Forum GSXT - Support and news
That is more relevant for the person doing the search and he will be more inclined to click your link, I mean, that is why we buy this product right?
Another issue. Not only are all of my new threads only showing with my Forum Title, the actual thread title is showing up in the Meta description area of the google result. Here is an example of how a current thread is appearing in google with the search phrase of "Best exhaust for 2009 GSXT"
My Car Forum GSXT - Support and news
Best exhaust for 2009 GSXT - this exhaust is very good and so on and so forth..
www.mysite.com/forum/
Do you notice how the title area only shows my forum name? Now look at the thread title in red, its showing up in the WRONG area of the result. Am I the only one getting this?
Here is how they used to show up and I feel was correct and optimal:
Best exhaust for 2009 GSXT - My Car Forum GSXT - Support and news
This exhaust is very good and so on and so forth.
www.mysite.com/forum/f9/best-exhaust-system-for-2009/
Can I not make these examples more plain and simple? Hopefully someone here can lend me a hand because this is becoming really frustrating for me and I don't feel happy so far with the answers I've gotten. I am not using vBSEO for any guaranteed rank or to have 500 unique visitors to my site daily, that would be unreasonbale. I bought this product to simply make my forum and threads more SEO, that's all.
Can anyone here help?
