    Site report - theopenjam.com

My board has been running since 8/18/05, with vbSEO installed since February '06. Until I installed vbSEO I had made absolutely no effort toward SEO...and it was still quite a while (6 months or more) after that before I did anything else in addition to installing vbSEO (validation, etc). For a while I couldn't break the ~5k mark on Google or Yahoo, but after fixing some major validation errors on my board things really took off with Google!

    Currently:
    site:www.theopenjam.com - Google Search
Results 1 - 10 of about 1,300,000 from The Open Jam - Powered by Angry Musicians for . (0.06 seconds)

It's been a month or two of consistent 1.2+ million reports from Google, and while I don't actually see 1.2+ million links when I browse through the results (only 30something pages), they're all seo'd urls. My Google-referred traffic is quickly becoming my #1referrer!

Yahoo/MSN still hate me, with Yahoo being stuck at ~5k results since forever, and MSN barely showing a few hundred results on a good day.

That's all for now. I've got some things in the works that will hopefully make the site more appealing/reputable, but none of that would really matter if I couldn't get new visitors to the site. vbSEO is a huge part of the new visitors I'm getting these days, and everything I now know about SEO I learned here, so thanks. Had I known then what I know now, my stats would likely be all that much better.

1,300,000 pages - really impressive. Congrats!
How about referrals? How many unique visitors a day you got from google?

I haven't quite figured out Analytics so I couldn't even tell you the daily referrals. :(

    Excellent seeing your results,

    Re: Google "site:" query
I wouldn't rely too much on it as it is known to be not entirely accurate at present. However, it's always a good reference. Definitely, the best way to track progress is by monitoring organic traffic brought to you by Search Engines.

Thank-you for sharing and I'm looking forward to more progress reports in the future

Yeah Google is a little disapointing in some ways I guess. I'm logging 8-12k hits a day (in the bots activity log) from Google though, and only a few hundred from Yahoo, so at least it appears that Google is really giving me some attention.

Ok so apparently, however many urls I submit to Google is how many results it will give me for the site:domain.com query.

I changed my sitemap settings to not include showpost yesterday, and re-ran/submitted to google. Today I'm showing 108k results, which is pretty much on par with my sitemap.

    Google is high.
