Question PageRank Drop Anyone?

Does anyone know if google is updating something?
1 Month ago my pagerank dropped from 5 to 2 and today I only see a white bar saying my pagerank is 0... (Sat-Television.com - Satellite Encryption - Powered by vBulletin)

Google has indexed 426893 of the 579471 pages I send them in my sitemapp and this number is still going up.
They send me around 12000 unique visitors every day, didn't change after after the pagerank drop.

Another thing I don't understand is the backlinks.
When I search for backlinks on google (link:http://www.sat-television.com/ - Google Search) I can only find 42 sites linking in but in my google webmaster tools there are 2800 pages with incomming links.

When I bought this domain 2 years ago it was banned from the google index which I didn't know ofcourse but I got it reindexed after sending a reconsideration request.

Nothing but problems and I'm just trying to optimize my site so people can find me in google, never try to trick them or anything...

Regards,
Danny

You have 1863 links on that page
I'd be suprised in that shape of it ever holding page rank :(
do you not have vbseo on it either?
and my google web tools show 40k backlinks, yet link:site shows 130.. so that isn't a good representation
use yahoo with linkdomain:site.com

Those links are due to 1500 active members online, those links are not displayed to search engines.
Tried vbseo many times on 3 different servers but my load just goes off the roof, only worked with minimal options enabled. I rather wait for vBulletin 4, heared they did some seo on it.

Maybe, but nevertheless I am wondering. From watching Webmaster Tools I was expection a jump from 4 to 5, not a drop as it happened now. But let's wait for next update, last one seems not to be a real update.

It's worthy of investigation. A shifting of internal link structure, or gaining/losing external links obviously can have impact. Often it takes a lot of work to analyze, and it may not be worth the effort considering:

I believe the statement is geared towards google putting themselves at the top of a lot of things, especially merchanise and things you would normally buy elsewhere. I saw on digitalpoint that a lot of people were losing their no.1 ranking to google just putting themselves up there.

Page rank has little or no effect on the actual rankings of your website.
Search engines use Trust Rank to gauge real ranking power of any website.

PageRank Drop Anyone?

It seems to me that the more likely cause of the various sites dropping Toolbar Page Rank may be due to Google adjusting the scale used to convert internal Page Rank to toolbar Page Rank.

If that is the case and the conversion is logarithmic then it would stand to reason that higher toolbar page Rank sites would appear to be hit " harder" simply because they are higher up the logarithmic curve.

One of our forums went down to PR 1 from PR 3, another one got a PR 1 from 0. You don't need to worry about PR much. You can try building some quality do-follow links if you want to see a rise by the next PR update.
