page rank is solely based on back links

Page rank is solely based on speculation and unfounded nothingness.

ignore it. it's worthless, meaningless, and won't rank you better or worse with or without it.

i like to ignore it but it is kind of value of ur website! u can not link exchange with website that has a good page ranks , people will see your forum and judge about it! i know it is stupid but it is GOOGLE page rank that people trust ! i know it is worthless but can not ignore it and i expect with using vbseo i can get higher ranks , at least not going down . maybe as Loco mentioned just backlinks helps about pagerank and vbseo has nothing to do with page rank stuff .

confuse!

You loose PR if you loose back links or link to irrelevant sites.
Built some back links and check those websites you are 'link exchanging' with.

The average user has no idea what pagerank even is. 99.9% of people won't judge a site from it, nor have an active toolbar to display it. the obvious exception to this is if you run a 'webmaster' forum.

I'm a page rank 0 and have been for nearly 1.5 years.
Google still sends me 8-10,000 people a day.

The only thing that is good about PR is if you want to sell links since that's all a lot of people look for when buying links is PR.

I'm not into the selling links thing anyway's. Well i used to run a web directory but i got out of it before the @#4!@ hit the fan.

My PR went from a PR4 to a PR3 this update but that's fine with me since i still see a small improvment on traffic each week. As long as the traffic is coming to your forum, don't worry about the PR. Briansol's is a great example of why PR means nothing. He's gets 8-10,000 people a day from google with a PR0. I wish i can get those stat's right now. lol

Nope.

A one-page website which hasn't been updated for months, can have a ......... say.. PR5.
Provided that there are enough high PR links pointing to it.

Perhaps if i tell google i'll pay them to make my PR a 10? Ok that was a joke but it's fun to read threads around the internet forums about PR when it's being updated.

Very entertaining stuff to read.

once every 3 months or so when google runs its update.

it could also gain, though.. and it's a page by page process, not a 'site' thing
