Needing some advice on SERP Problems

Hello Everyone, I have really big problems trying to rank anywhere in Google for the main keywords related to my site.

My forum has 2000 members, and is very active
Site has been operating for just on 4 years.
Page Rank in last Google Review increased from 2 to 3

Of the tools that give google SERP placement , I am not ranked even in the first 1000 for the main keyword relative to my site.

My competitor is on the front page of google, however I am not ranking anywhere. ( not even in first 1000)

    I have 40K + pages indexed.

For my own site name... I rank #841, my competitor ranks #62.... and that is for MY sites name... UGHH

For my exact URL ... I rank #21.. my competitor ranks #15.... for my EXACT URL.

What can I do..... and why can I not rank on google in SERPs... sites that have been dead for 3 years are ranking, but I am not.... and the forum is very active with 500ish posts per day.

Can anyone help me with this... I am really needing some insight as to what could be so wrong..

    Many thanks..

How many people actually search for MLP, instead of the full version? You need to get those terms on your homepage.

Ahhh.... there is actually a very easy answer to why you are not likely to rank well. You are using frames!

Get rid of this ASAP and I predict you will see significant improvement. Since you're just using a navigation frame, you can easily move this into your template, or hire a tech person who can do it for you. It's a simple process.

Hi Joe... thankyou for the reply...... I knew frames were bad, but I didnt know they would have such a detrimental effect ....

I have tried to put that navigation into a template for VB... and have had trouble doing so... It looks very bad, and doesnt line up properly, Ive tried many of the hacks over at vb.org... Most are unsupported.

I wonder though...... which is better for SERPS...... a page constructed of HTML only... or say a dynamic main page created with VBAdvanced.....

would one rank better than the other?

    Many thanks for your help....

dynamic pages export plain old html.... it doesn't matter what its generated from.

lose the frames ASAP. those were deprecated in 1999.
