My site review - TRIPLING traffic in 2 months with an established site! Se7enSins.com

So I've had vBSEO installed now for a few years. Each year doubling my traffic at the least, it seemed. But over the last 6 months, my site has EXPLODED! And I feel it's been a big help from vBSEO, as I've thought that it has what has kept my site up since the beginning.

    Short history:
I started my site a bit late compared to a lot of the other people in the same niche as me. But I did a lot of reading, learning what I had to do as a webmaster (as I was only a gamer when I created the site, didn't even know what html meant lol ). Slowly, I started gaining grounds on the smaller communities and eventually surpassed them. Became the "leader" and they all eventually died out and no longer exist.

Now I'm competing with "the big dogs", xbox-scene.com. I surpassed all the sites I had admired for so long (halomods.com, xbox-hq.com, etc. if you were ever a Halo gamer or Xbox modder, you've heard of those sites!) and now I get to play on the same field as X-S, and I believe I'm keeping up finally!

    RECENTLY!!
In October, I was getting around 14,000 unique visitors a day (plus or minus a few thousand depending on the day of the week), making a decent amount of money. The last week I've had in the upper 30,000 uniques, reaching over 40,000 the last 2 days and hopefully again today. Each week we've been surpassing our "Most users online" stats and yesterday we hit almost 2,000 visitors online at once! Just a few weeks ago it was set at a little above 800.

And now I'm making about 4x the amount of money I was making! And continue to be contacted by many companies interested in me using their system for advertisements. I've also been contacted by various people that create things for the Xbox 360 and they are sending me some free products as well as putting their products up for free for our tournaments, so we could advertise them.

So I wanted to thank everyone in the vBSEO community and the STAFF! A++ rated staff if you ask me! I'd like to thank people like Brian and Brandon as they've been very big help in the past and couldn't make this post without mentioning their names. And thanks to this huge traffic increase, I get to be in the market for a new server!!!

    THANK YOU AGAIN!

Thanks! I'm definitely trying. It's nice to get the advertising companies competing against each other! I've increased my revshare on one and hoping to increase it on another

If it wasn't for this product + all the guides/tutorials that help you optimize your site, I really don't think I'd be where I'm at today. vBSEO has made SEO much easier on vBulletin! Thanks again.

I might be...but not on the Gold release. I'm going to wait to see what other users find as far as bugs go. At the same time I'll be hiring a designer to get a good design going. Once I think it's safe, I'll hire a coder to "git r done". So that way when I upgrade, I just have to upload a new xml and skin images and set it to default!

    Congrats Justin.

Care to share/list the amendments you made? It would really help me as I am a big board owner who is looking to tweak my VBSEO settings to squeeze out some more visitor juice.

I didn't tweak anything. I've been steadily doing advertising for various keywords and also got lucky on a lot of long tail keywords + being one of the first sites to publicly release something everyone has been looking for.

So it's just been a long process of advertising, keyword targeting, and then getting lucky as hell with new discoveries within my niche.

BTW, 2 days ago reach 49,336 and yesterday 48,541!!!!

    Hi.

Congrats on your success. Vbseo is really a great piece of software.

Anyways can you give us some stats. How many logged in visitors do you get on average in 24 hours also what server specs are you using to run that awesome forum?

Your info would be much appreciated.

Not sure how to get how many people have logged in, in 24hrs...but in the ACP it shows:
    Unique Members Today 3,430

My online stats right now is: Currently Active Users: 1976 (498 members and 1478 guests)

    My server specs:
Processor: Dual Quad Core AMD 2356
    Memory: 4GB DDR 2
    Disk Space: 100GB RAID 10
    Uplink: 100Mbps
    LAN Uplink: 1000Mbps

I believe those are the stats. I'm using AdminGeekz for my sysadmin and they currently have me set up on a larger node but have those stats delegated to my site. They may have added 2 more gb of ram, but that's it I believe. It's just 1 server unlike some of the other big boards on vbseo and it seems to run fine (except for when we get hit with massive DDoS attacks).

Also, I've set a new record of uniques 2 weeks ago 53,186!
