    Exclamation My experience with vBSEO

First of all, sorry about my English I´m from Germany.

I installed vBSEO on Monday the 23th March 2009 on my forum 2-Wheel-Planet - Alles rund um das Tuning von Zweirädern
First I had some problems with installing it, but with Merts and Philipp help I got it installed.
Some configurations edited an then the forum was ready

Here are some statistics from Google Analytics:

New statistics from 27th April: http://www.vbseo.com/f84/my-experien...64/#post211406

Your results look like mine right now, it seems that my indexed pages are decreasing.

Hopefully over time this will change because Google might be reindexing our sites, so it makes are results fall for the month or two afterwards..

Now after a week in Roma i came back and then the shock:
    Pagerank 0 ?!!???
    https://tools.sistrix.de/pr/?http%3A...l-planet.de%2F

    What the ****?
In the last weeks i didn´t anything in SEO...

No code has to be inserted here.
The only thing that could be the reason can be VbSEO, because I installed it after the last Pagerank Update...
Installed 23th March and the Pagerank Database is from the beginning of March.

    What shall I do?

Relax. Pagerank means nothing. Your traffic is still going up which is the only thing that matters. I don't read German but I'm guessing those are paid text links at the bottom of the page? Would explain the loss of Pagerank.

Concentrate on quality traffic backed up with quality well placed PPC/CPM ads. Trading based purely on pagerank just isn't worth it.

My traffic decreased a little bit, from 300 visitors a day to 220 visitors...
Yes, I´m selling 2 or 3 backlinks, but can that be a reason for decreasing the PR from 3 to 0 ? Damn, now my only money income of this page is away...

Any tips or tricks to get the old PR back?

I sold a few text links about a year ago and lost my PageRank too. Haven't got it back... not that it seems to matter; I get 4 million hits more a month than this time last year.

I heard about loosing PR, when selling BL´s but from 3 to 0 ?!?
There are many other sites, how are selling it and doesn´t lose their PR.

    Damn.

Do you have a Google webmaster tools account? I bet your competitors do.

    In there you have this:
    gt.png

Within days you will lose your pagerank and all revenue attached to it.

If you want to sell text links, don't sell on PR. Googles advice is rel="nofollow" your links. That way you won't lose PR (if you are that interesting in keeping it).

Building revenue based on PR is like 'the man building a house upon the sand' (nope im not religious lol). Go for a more stable business plan.

Nothing is black and white like that,

I have site sponsors, they pay me because they belief my site will be a good resource.... the PR is one consideration (regardless of it is useful) that companies like to be high and as such pay more.

I wouldn't dream of selling back links, nor do I buy them.
