[Log] MMOVenue.com - Ongoing Review (Updated Periodically!)

Greetings,

This isn't your average review. I will be updating this review as time goes by.. showing you the increases (hopefully!) in my website's statistics and the power of vbSEO.

My site is MMOVenue. I went "live" about one week and one day ago.

mmovenue is a "gaming" website and therefore has a lot of other competition out there. Seriously, there are many 100,000s if not millions of gaming forums out there.

The site is centered around online gaming. A lot of discussion and hopefully soon largely based on trading online gaming accounts and in-game items.

Honestly I am seeing amazing growth for just one week. I can't believe that I am already getting 600-800 pageviews a day. Therefore, I believe that this website has tremendous potential and surely will see a lot of benefit from vbSEO.


Statistics for Tuesday, May 12, 2009 - Right before vbSEO installation:

Members: 32
Threads: 76
Posts: 372

Honestly a few of these members (Okay, like twenty of them) are friends of mine who I specifically told to join. That is the best idea I can tell you guys for the first day.. get some friends to join to get some forum activity.

As you can see, only 0.34 percent of my traffic comes from search engines before vbSEO is installed.

Alex - I also recommend you install our vBSEO LiveStats plugin. It will be a great way for you to track your growing traffic while you are visiting your new forum, without having to jump back and forth into Google Analytics and clicking a bunch of stuff to get an idea.

Random note: I will be posting in the critique section after I do everything within my knowledge to optimize the site via vbSEO.

Anyway.. I'm now going through the sticky threads for configuration advice.

Stuff To Do First

• Yes, I'm running the most recent version of vbSEO (I just bought it today!)
• I replaced showpost links with Permalinks
• I'm not using archive footer links
• I installed vBSEO sitemap and it is working
• I'm using vBSEO conditional signatures
• The site has a beautiful layout and logo
• I need to work on getting more content on the front page
• I removed "Powered by vbulletin"
• More to come
