Linking Google Analytics and AdSense - bad idea?

Is there any drawback to linking Google Analytics with AdSense? Has it had a negative impact on anyone's revenue?

Also, all domains other than the one you specify as "primary" in this arrangement evidently need modifications to the Analytics code. Can VBSEO somehow account for the necessary changes?

    Thank you.

Why would this have a negative impact? It applies analytics to adsense data and is actually quite useful. You shouldn't have to change any code around.

i linked it. i haven't really found it that useful though, so i haven't converted my non-primary sites to use it yet.

I may have misunderstood it, but it appeared to say that, other than a single primary site you selected which required no code changes, you would have to change the analytics code of every other site you wanted to track in this way. I was wondering whether vbseo's analytics integration can accommodate this.

you can track which pages are making you the most money; so it's somewhat useful...

who are those others? If you have google analytics you're already sharing with google, if you use google adsense you're already sharing with google; all this does is link your two accounts...

I have tested this on a few sites I own and the results were very different. much much lower revenues according to analytics.

Well, I don't know if it's purely a coincidence or what, but I seem do be doing noticeably worse since explicitly making this bridge. Sure, Google has all of the data in the respective databases for all of their applications that collect data, but that doesn't necessarily mean they are cross referencing, combining, and mining whatever they can for each small fish publisher by default. Like I said, it could be completely coincidental that my bridging Analytics and AdSense coincides with suddenly making significantly less via AdSense, but I'd rather eliminate as many variables as I can, assuming unbridging Analytics and AdSense would even undo any change bridging them might have made.

Does anyone know how to "disconnect" AdSense and Analytics?

Open Analytics, in the main overview if you have selected a profile you should see all sites listed which are you currently tracking, at the top you should see

Overview » profile_name (Edit account settings | Edit AdSense linking settings)

click on Edit Adsense linking settings allows you to link/unlink the sites in your profile.

It looks like I can select and deselect sites that way, but it doesn't look like I can "break" the connection altogether that way. It is requiring me to choose at least one site to link with AdSense.

Does anyone else know how to do this? Or is the idea that the AdSense/Analytics link may be impacting my AdSense revenue silly and not worth worrying about?

    Thanks
