    Indexed Pages dropped dramatically

    Hi everyone,

    My indexed pages on google were 160000+, today I happen to look and they are down to 600

    What could be going on? My site map is still downloading and OK in GoogleWebMaster tools..... I have no notifications from Google in Webmaster tools either.

    What could be wrong?

    This is not a new phenomenon and many webmasters panic due to this. There are a lot of reasons that can be associated with this. One of them is related to the data-centres i.e. you may be seeing the results through a different data center. However, a research is needed on the URLs. You may want to check John Muller's post on indexing issues at google groups. Hope you will find this useful.
