Here is my tail:
Month - Hits/Terms
Jun - 2,09
Jul - 2,11
Ago - 1,88
Set - 1,83
Out - 1,76 (until 20)
I notice a traffic drop since September and vBSeo was installed in 9 Set
"The lowest this #, the more powerful your search long tail is likely to be"
I think this is a good sign![]()
It depends on how much traffic you are getting. Hits/Terms will definitely drop once you start getting long tail dominated. However, if you only have a small amount of search visitors, a loss in traffic to your top keywords would make this number drop too.
How many are you doing daily (search hits)?
Hi,
Here is my stats:
Month - Visits/Terms
Jun - 15.204/7.273
Jul - 25.342/12.029
Aug - 23.606/12.551
Sep - 17.628/9.656
So there is a shift towards more long tail dominance, but your traffic is certainly off. I'd expect a recovery within 30 days.
In the mean time, you should make sure you are as optimized as possible.
I'm a little scared ...
Hi Joe ...
I'm more confident now as you can imagine, since I was expecting every day for a takeoff.
Most of the things you shown are done ... now just need new and fresh content and time to let things append
Content is the difficult part![]()
Hi ...
A new update from visitors that came from searches:
Month - Searches/Terms
Oct - 13,924 / 7,247
As you can see, things aren't well with visitors from searches :( but the positive is that SERP's are stronger and it's easy to place threads on the top results, when well written and with the right keywords.
I notice too that advertisers on my niche are very quiet so, this drives me to a conclusion: People aren't looking for vacations at this time.
I've being following some other forums in the same niche and using the user registration as a metric, we have the same difference as usual.
I haven't tested this before vBSeo, but as I said before, I reach the 1st position for my most search keyword and it's stable.
A week ago I wrote a new thread targeting the same subject and google just placed at 2nd position after a few days, grouped with the 1st one
Google groups related topics and place new threads just below the 1st one. If we place some threads in good positions, We only need to write new ones around the same subject.

Hi ...
I'm not filling lucky :(
Almost 2 moths without results. I'm doing the same as before and I can't see and traffic changes.
What am I doing wrong? What should I do?
I don't believe at this time that the style changes and the url changes are affecting the site.
Can this be a result of a less people searching?
Please give me some tips!
You are definitely seeing a decline in hits and long tail. You installed on September 8th, so we are just a few days away from your 2 month anniversary.Month - Visits/Terms

Are you running the latest version of our sitemap, and have you verified it:
Verifying your vBSEO Google/Yahoo Sitemap Generator is Installed Correctly
Have you made any other changes recently to your site or vBSEO settings, etc?
Have you changed hosting providers or experienced any downtime?
Did you experience any downtime when you installed vBSEO?
Is your Google Webmaster panel displaying any diagnostic error messages?
I've contacted one of our large network clients to see if they can provide any info on seasonal trends in the online travel niche.
Hi Joe ...
I'll appreciate that, since I have done everything like You and Brian have in yours tutorials.
My vBSeo settings are the same as in the first days.
My host is very reliable and I haven't seen any downtime.
The installation was very smooth without any problem.
Google WM are fine without errors neither my sitemap.
I've been searching at adwords keyword tools to see is there is any diference before, but this are stable.
I just notice as I said before that advertisers in my niche are quiet, but this should be expected since this is winter here and usually people only takes some small vacations in the new year and march.

Well ..
Doing my home work i just found something that I must evaluate.
This is the 2008 evolution for the Portuguese term "travel" (viagem):
This is my site traffic:
Can this be the answer to my questions?
Certainly. If less people are searching for it, you're going to get less hits.
I drop a little in the winter as well.
I didn't think of using Google Trends. Good idea.
