I got it.. I GOT ITTTTTTTT

    Well,

For the longest time I have been postponing this purchase,
    And now I got it.

I will post my findings in increased traffic and all if you don't mind.

Just installed it, so I guess it will be a while. Some current stats then

    1) 1,558 visitors for the month
    2) 404 from google
    3) searching for "law student forum" on google finds me on number 34 (damn)
    4) searching on google for the domain name gives me 891 results

    Did I miss something?

Your site is one of the few law message boards on the net right now. There are tons of "services" law sites on the net right now. So, that might have an effect. You have to do more than just SEO to roam through the crowded line of sites.

I would submit the website to alexa, and maybe start paying for ads with google, and yahoo. Its going to take more than just SEO to get out of that woods right now.

Yeah there are only a handful of sites, but I run this with zero budget all has to be done organic. One thing that is unique about my site is the community support of lawyers sending there old school notes, this is a valuable and unique content source.

I have no idea how to grow this quicker, I hired a signature firm to place posts on law forums and put me in the signature but it feels like cheating....

zero budget, you sound like me. I don't have any money to spare for marketing beyond SEO. But that will change once I get a job. I'm spending all the money I have left for my empire.

Its great to know that you've gotten support from others - that's a big plus for your board. Keep throwing reasons for posting (adding value) to your site. Its like you said, its a unique content source.

You did a great job on hiring a signature firm to place posts, while doing "product placement" via signatures. That's what I do as an expertise. I would say, its not cheating. Do whatever it takes to put your business "out there" by having brand presence, brand awareness. Now, all you need to do is push the envelope by going to all of the major social media websites, register with your business name, and place an attractive image with an embedded link to your business website/forum.

Twitter is another suggestion I have for you, because you can make connections and update them with every small post you have.

Youtube, myspace, facebook, they all offer opportunities to expand your business/website - you can do it for free, or for a price (all three allows sponsored placements).

You should have left your VBSEO on, because everytime you "reset everything" (I know its not true in your case, but I'm generalizing here -its my point) and start over again, google thinks you're doing a brand new site. That's the truth, because everytime I changed my sub-domain, google restarts the "frequency" of the crawls, so does yahoo, or any other service out there. Everytime you move your vbulletin license around, google restarts. If you import your forum to a fresh new database, google starts all over again. This is the case for you because you re-installed VBSEO.

It's a very good idea to keep an eye on your long tail also.
What is the Search Long Tail? - vBulletin SEO Forums

Also - a great way to quickly check your stats is to use the new beta plugin we developed. We are calling this early version "LiveStats" until the official name is selected.
vBSEO LiveStats for Google Analytics Widget v1.0

Try it out. I know you'll like it.

Yes, but you can do it page by page instantly by clicking the "stats" tab on the left for your site.

Note: We keep it visible here to demonstrate the feature, but when you install you will enable only for you as an admin. Noone gets to see your stats but you.

But the key thing is that you can instantly see a summary of the stats for your entire site, or just for the *page* you are visiting right at the moment.

Find out if the page you are on is getting hits, then move on to the next page and check again. Or instantly see how your stats are for globally by clicking the "Global" tab (once the LiveStats plugin is displaying).

Try it out by clicking the link on the left. If you like it, I recommend you download it and install. It's really easy and requires *no* uploads. You just import a product file into your vBulletin AdminCP, add a few basic config details, and you're done.

    OK,

I am officially jalouse, it seems that if people complain about vbseo, the whole team jumps on board and overloads the poster with good advise!

Failing to complain, I hope to get the same result with the above... or do I have to start a thread with "Oh my god I got it"

My forum is not getting any improvement so far, I know it takes time... but it seems that my visitors have gone down instead of up, yahoo doesnt like my site at all anymore etc etc.

Something improved, people stay longer and all, but my adsense went from $3 a day to $0.3 ahhhhhhhhhh

I wish the "special treatment" would be generously spend in the thread and the "team" overwhelm me with a TO DO LIST,

ww w. ext er na law . com

Uhhh... you already did that. You're posting in it.

    Here's a to do list:

    1. Develop some PATIENCE! Your forum, as far as I can tell, is only a few weeks old. You've changed things several times in those few weeks. You started the forum, gave up and tried to sell it, changed your mind and decided to keep it, installed vBSEO, disabled vBSEO, enabled vBSEO again. Stop jumping all over the place like an attention-seeking child with ADHD, fix your eyes on the long term, and put some effort into content. If you're not prepared to do that, go back to your original plan: Give up and sell it.

    2. See #1. Rinse and repeat frequently.
