Dear SEO Report,
I have done some and have few queries regarding other, I hope when get time you will help me on those queries as well.
1. Get rid of the "powered by vbulletin" text in forum home title
Done
2. You're using the default's "FORUM_TITLE - THREAD_TITLE" in your showthread template, change it to THREAD_TITLE only.
Do you mean in VBSEO Admin or in ADMINCP of VB ? in vbSEO i changed it to [thread_id]-[thread_title].html Please confirm.
3. Use extrnal css instead of inline styles
Done.
4. Enable vbseo's dynamic meta tags
Already Enabled.
5. Compress HTML output (using vbseo), it helps boosting C2C ratio
I am unable to find any such option in vbseocp :( However on VB Admincp it is enabled.
6. Wrap thread titles inside H1/H2 tags (instead of bold/strong), use css to make them look as normal headlines.
I will look into it and will do it soon.
7. Get more links (use your sig file when posting in public forums)
Starting this from vbseo.com
8. Read SEO articles/tips. WebmasterWorld.com is a good place to start.
Sure will do it.
9. Visit other vbseo forums that are doing well and study their source code/templates. Learn from the good guys.
Thats I already started and visited almost all the forums listed in this thread.
Once again many thanks.
Regards,
Please accept my apology, it seems i hijacked this thread :( but I am sure few expert replies will be of great help to many other like me.![]()
2. Given that templates were mentioned, you were supposed to change the template in your AdminCP - Style Manager.![]()
As Kall mentionned, it's in your VB's AdminCP.Do you mean in VBSEO Admin or in ADMINCP of VB ? in vbSEO i changed it to [thread_id]-[thread_title].html Please confirm.
Sorry! it's called "Cleanup HTML code".5. Compress HTML output (using vbseo), it helps boosting C2C ratio
I am unable to find any such option in vbseocp However on VB Admincp it is enabled.
You should enable it.
You're welcome!many thanks

After two days I have no new pages (with vbseo) indexed in Google but 3-400 something in Yahoo, Yahoo is pretty quick to index these days.
(On a forum with about 96,000 posts)
Holy freaking ****! I am just stunned. When this thread was first posted a while back, I reported 40,000. Today, less than a month later, I am proud to say I have over 178,000! That's more than 300% growth in three weeks.
Juan and company, I could kiss you right now.

127,000 in google
VBSEO URL
Results 1 - 2 of about 43,800 for inurl:sikhphilosophy.net. (0.11 seconds)
I am showing off my complete ignorance here but i would like to know how when my forum has got only 15,000 posts, can have more than 43,800 (now) pages indexed in google? Please resolve my curiousity.
Mine reduced to 3,010 :(Originally Posted by Basit

and I am wondering why i have only 3,010 pages index when number of threads on my forum is over 2million. :-?Originally Posted by Neutral Singh
Wait a minute, the allinurl(...) command only shows vbSEOed URLs, not the total indexed pages.Originally Posted by Basit
I personally use the site: command for a better insight.
site:www.hallagulla.com returned 9,950 pages.
But the problem is, many pages are either pulled from supplemental db or are non-important/duplicated content (showpost.php, member profiles, ect...).
Google Hates You!
It does.
You have 100s pages in supplemental db, very few links (use marketleap.com link popularity checker, do NOT rely on G's link: command).
Don't expect G to come to your site and/or rank you well if you don't give it a GOOD reason to do so.
Before crying and scratching your head wondering why vbSEO isn't working for you, take the time to honnestly evaluate your website (in term of quality), review your linking strategy, write articles, give your members something really unique, etc...
It's a painful task, I know (easier said than done). Very few websites are doing this, and that's why relatively few websites succeed and stand out from the Crowd.
Regardless of your forum topic, there are 100s of other "good" websites, why would G boost your site?
It's been said before, but few really understood it (I'm still trying myself):
Make a useful UNIQUE website
Get links (QUALITY links)
Google will then come to your doors.
HTH.
Could it be possible that most of the posts on hallagulla are written in urdu language written in english, resulting in google considering the website as being written in poor english grammer and language and thus ignoring to add the pages Or could it be due to a bad webhost server? It is quite possible that webhost might have been blacklisted by google? Just trying to give some pointers to the problem.
And my question in my last post still does stands
i would like to know the logic of how: when my forum has got only 15,000 posts, can have more than 43,800 pages indexed in google? Please resolve my curiousity.
